Mary Fox was born about 1738 in Kingwood, Hunterdon County, New Jersey. She was the daughter of George and Mary Fox.

When she was about 17 years old, the 43 year old minister, Malachiah Bonham took advantage of her. Her son was

Malachiah Bonhan, Jr.

The February 7, 1757 Minutes of the Kingwood Baptist Church recorded that

Mary Fox [was] suspended for having a bastard child which she swore was Malakiah Bonham’s. Sent for Mr. Benjamin Griffey and Mr. Benjamin Miller in regard to Malakiah Bonham who will be notified by Brother Romine.
